(Matthew 1:22) Now all this
was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
(Matthew 1:23) Behold, a
virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is,
God with us.
The wise men who followed
the heavenly stars came and offered their adoration and brought expensive gifts to show their gratitude for the King of Kings. The heavenly angels heralded his arrival with songs throughout to let people know,
that something marvelous had occurred, that was worthy of their attention.
This is what Christmas is
truly about, the announcement of the arrival of a very special child, who was born not in a palace fit for the wealthy and
prosperous rulers, but in a lowly stable, surrounded by God’s creatures. Yet
his birth and life forever changed the history of mankind for all eternity, a Christmas to remember.
Giving presents and gifts
are only a symbol of appreciation and thankfulness, being able to share with family and friends material things is wonderful,
but it is not the true meaning of Christmas. I have learned in recent years to
value friendship from those who have shown me loyalty and commitment throughout my lifetime, and the importance of spending
quality time with family and those you love. Tomorrow isn’t promise to
no one, not even next year’s holidays; so make every day, every hour and minute count.
Make beautiful memories now, so you can appreciate them later without any regrets.

Forgive those
who have hurt and wounded you, and move on to a brighter future. Let go of those
things in the past that are weighing you down, and release all the baggage that you have being carrying that have kept or
are hindering your freedom to be happy and have a good life. Do something for
someone else, without expecting a return favor. Life is what you make of it,
so don’t waste any opportunity to live it to the fullest.
For those who don’t
have family or love ones, find someone or somebody to share the holiday season with, visit or stop by a Senior Residence or
Home, check on your neighbors, especially the elderly and widows, volunteer some time for community services and help feed
the hungry at one of the non-profit or charitable organizations that sponsors meals to the less fortunate. Reach out and touch somebody with love and kindness and make this world a better place to live in. Put a smile on a child’s face by granting a wish, or adopt a family from the
Salvation Army or a local church and make this a Christmas to remember.
Christmas is when we show
the world and others, the best character of our humanity. Don’t allow selfishness,
self pity, pride, arrogance, or any other demeaning attitude to ruin your day, your happiness or peace of mind. Scrooge not only needed to change his attitude, but his thoughts about those around him and his life of
solidarity. He had to relive his memories before he realized that for all his
wealth and power, he was destitute and lonely, that his life had no purpose or meaning, he had chosen to isolate himself from
caring and sharing himself with others.
Make this Holiday Season
your best! Eat, Love and Play! Enjoy all that life has to offer, be thankful
for what you have been given, be appreciative and grateful for the small things that are more important and meaningful to
having a successful life.
Happy Holidays!
Reminder: Jesus is the Reason for the Season! |
